In the past, microbes had only been known as microorganisms that made us sick; thus, we avoided them at all costs. However, there have now been scientific breakthroughs that prove how they are essential to our lives. 

Products labeled antibacterial, antiseptic or antimicrobial that we use daily are now proven to be more harmful than useful. These products includes:

  • soaps and detergents

  • hand sanitizers

  • disinfectants

  • window cleaners

  • cleaning cloths

  • surface sprays

  • mouthwashes

  • toothpastes

  • garbage bags and plastic wrap

  • textiles and carpet underlay

WHAT CHANGED?

Apart from products that make bacteria stronger, there are some of us who take probiotics. Probiotics can help our digestive system. These 'good' bacteria do all kinds of different things within our bodies. The community of microbes within every one of us is known as the microbiome.
